Project File Nº 037 Completed
1937 Imperial
“Black Betty”
Overview
Black Betty came in beige — a 1937 Chrysler Imperial C-14 Roadster with the years showing, and the shop’s second C-14 — her red sister, Bloody Mary, was finished in 2017. Her build history told the rest of the story: she left the factory black, with an Oxblood Red interior. We took her down to the frame and built her back the only way we know how: no shortcuts, correct throughout, every panel worked by hand until the light ran clean across it.
The result is a ground-up concours roadster back in her original black over blood-red leather — hand-fitted chrome, a period-correct interior, and paint laid, wet-sanded, and polished the way it was done when the car was new. The full build lives on our channel, video by video, exactly as it happened.
